Mother Superior Jump The Gun For I Am The Walrus asked:

Our country is in shambles (could be worse, and I hope that wasn’t the kiss of death), but any who, Whilst we are trying to recover from the oil spill, and trying to stablize the economy I’d be damned! Here Obama is on The View! and he goes vacationing with his family. Some people’s argument might be “Well he has a family too”. When he signed up for the whole shebang, didn’t he realize what responsibilities he would have to take on? And I’d better stop myself from even mentioning the first lady, well I’m too late! She’s spending our damn money and buying fashion clothing. Who gives a damn what you look like? If the whole world burst into flames from the oil spill (heaven forbid) no one would give a damn what you are wearing. I don’t know about you guys but I’m getting tired of everyone at the capital getting served prime surloin steaks (if there’s such a thing) and key lime pie while we get bologna sandwiches!

I should have joined the debate club!

Anyways, what’s your guy’s stand on this?

21. At least fives times in your normal travel day you will pass or be passed by a beat-up, old *** car that has had an attempted pimping out, such as a brand new oversized spoiler on a rust covered trunk, spinning HUBCABS, or everyones favorite, the performance exhaust on a car running on barely three cylinders.

22. You know that the phrase, “Goin up ta,” applies to going north, south, east, or west, up or down in elevation, and pretty much any other way you can travel.

50. Getting paid minimum wage is considered a raise.

51. You refer to anyone with a house newer than 1980 as the “rich people.”

Michaela asked:

For the past two or three months, there has been a wild cat that has come to our house every day. At first we tossed him some bologna and he would eat it but never came to close. Then we bought some cat food and over the weeks he has come closer and closer. Now he waits on our front porch until we come out with a bowl of food. I can put the bowl right next to me and he will eat it. He will even eat out of my hand if I offer him something extra tasty like a piece of hot dog. Sometimes he will try to swat at it but I don’t let him eat it unless he is willing to eat it right from my hand. My family named him Spooky and me and my brother are the ones who usually go out to feed him. I go out the most so he is most comfortable with me. I really want to keep him as a pet but my dad is doubtful he will ever be a good pet. Do you think he ever will? There is a local spay/neuter clinic with a feral cat package that will neuter him (he is definitely a boy) and give him all his shots for $45. The thing is, you have to bring the cat in a trap. They will let you borrow a trap but if we trap him will he lose all trust for us?
I’ve been reading up a lot on the subject and I know it can be done, and I think Spooky will make a good pet because he is already accustomed to us. He is young, only about a year old, so that is why he is tolerant of use in the first place. Other wild cats we’ve seen don’t get anywhere near humans. Spooky is very expressive and will roll around all over our driveway and on our patio just several feet away from us. He also turns his back to us, which I read is a sign of trust.
We are leaving for a ten day vacation two weeks from now and I am worried that Spooky has become dependent on us. My dad is being difficult and isn’t persuaded. I know Spooky is capable of hunting, I’ve seen him go after frogs in our pond and I watched him catch a bird today. I just don’t want him to stop coming. I made this plan:

Trap Spooky and bring him to the clinic the next day.
Pick him u p later on when he is still recovering from the surgery and out him in a small room or large closet.
Sit with him while he is still sleepy and pet him if he lets me.
over the next couple of days/weeks, work with him in the room and gain his trust.
Once he is willing to let my whole family pet him and he is litter trained, let him explore the whole house.

Do you think this plan could work? If anyone has suggestions or stories please share! And also, I heard cats are easy to litter train because they like to bury their poo. Is this true? If we leave a litter box in the room with Spooky will he go in it or will he need coaxing?

sarahg asked:

My family is going on a 1-week vacation in Italy this summer. We will go from Florence, to the countryside outside Bologna/Modena, to Venice. I was planning on taking the train so we could enjoy the views, but saw on our B&B’s website that we will need to have a rental car with us while in the Bologna/Modena area anyway to get around to different attractions. Should we just rent a car for this one stop (like 2 days) or should we rent a car for the entire trip and drive each leg?
How long does it take driving vs. taking a train?
Are the views of Italy from the road much worse than those from the train tracks?
How about cost comparison?

Any and all suggestions welcome — thanks!!
